The October Yearling Sale continues to be a source of Group winners across the globe. SISTERCHARLIE continues to add to her winnings having triumphed in the Diana Handicap (Gr.1) at Saratoga and the Beverly D. Stakes (Gr.1) at Arlington Park. LORD GLITTERS won the Queen Anne Stakes (Gr.1), during the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting having finished third in the Dubai Turf (Gr.1) at Meydan
In France, GRAND GLORY finished an excellent third in the Prix de Diane Longines (Gr.1), less than a length off the winner, CHANNEL. Other graduates of this sale, ROBIN OF NAVAN, GALLIC CHIEFTAIN, CARTIEM, MORANDO, ELYSEA’S WORLD, PRIVILEGIADO, ALWAAB and Scandinavian champion SQUARE DE LUYNES, have all distinguished themselves at Listed and Group level. Several promising juveniles have also shown their talent this season such as WOODED, MY LOVES PASSION and GUILDSMAN. This year, a total of 609 yearlings will attempt to follow in their footsteps. The sale will begin on October 22 at 3pm with the first session, made up of 162 lots. The second session is made up of 181 lots and will take place on the Wednesday from 3pm, with the third session starting on the Thursday at 2pm. Finally, 90 colts and fillies will go under the hammer on Friday, October 25 at 11am for the final session, which closes the saleA total of 583 yearlings qualified for the 2020 Haras de Bouquetot – October Sale Criterium. The Critérium de la Vente d’Octobre, won last year by MASTER BREWER, subsequently exported to Hong Kong, will take place on Saturday, October 5 at ParisLongchamp Racecourse. Reserved for two-year-olds sold at the 2018 sale and qualified by their owners, the third edition of the race is worth €275,000 in prize-money down to eighth place, with €137,500 to the winner. The breeders of the first three home will be rewarded by the race sponsor Haras de Bouquetot with a free covering to Shalaa for the winner, Olympic Glory for the second, and Zelzal for the third. Of the 609 yearlings in the 2019 catalogue, 583 of these colts and fillies are qualified for the 2020 race, which takes place during the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend at ParisLongchamp.
