Mentre in Italia spadroneggiano istruttori e commercianti che importano ciofeche dall’estero, la Francia riutilizza il cavallo da corsa facendolo diventare un soggetto versatile a costi monto bassi. Au-Dela des Pistes è l’asociazione che si occupa del loro reinserimento nello sport.

La terza edizione a Deauville è stata un grande successo
E’ Il giorno di Au-Dela des Pistes, l’associazione che si occupa di integrare nel mondo del cavallo sportivo, il purosangue inglese. Per il terzo anno consecutivo l’evento ai è tenuto all’ippodromo di Deauville-La Touques, sabato 25 agosto, e ha deliziato una grande folla venuta a vedere le varie manifestazioni e la parata dei campioni.
Nicolas e #MeryldeWatrigant della #MandoreAgency, che ha sponsorizzato l’evento, hanno dichiarato: “Siamo lieti di essere associati all’organizzazione benefica” Au Dela des Pistes “che assicura una seconda carriera per i cavalli da corsa. Il nostro compito è di consigliare proprietari e allevatori sull’acquisto di cavalli da corsa, rassicurandoli in sul loro benessere quando escono dalle corse, una grande preoccupazione spesso espressa dai nostri clienti. Siamo tutti amanti dei cavalli e il loro benessere è della massima importanza “.
Durante la Parade of Champions erano presenti diversi personaggi delle corse tra cui #FreddyHead, che è venuto a vedere due delle sue vecchie glorie: SOLOW, un cinque volte vincitore del Gruppo 1 dei fratelli Wertheimer che sfilava per il prima volta, MARCHAND D’OR, di proprietà dei coniugi Giral, che ha vinto in particolare il Prix Maurice de Gheest nel 2006, 2007 e 2008.
A questi due cavalli eccezionali si sono aggiunti a CIRRUS DES AIGLES, molto in forma malgrado i suoi 12 anni, AFRICAN STORY e PRINCE BISHOP, entrambi vincitori della #DubaiWorldCup per Godolphin. Arrivavano direttamente da Newmarket Questi cinque cavalli tra loro hanno vinto complessivamente 20 gruppi 1 e oltre 29 milioni in premi.
Dopo la sfilata, il pubblico è stato invitato a incontrare i campioni e tutti i cavalli che hanno preso parte alle manifestazioni. Accompagnati da Au-Dela des Pistes, più di 80 persone hanno incontrato i cavalli nei loro box acquisendo una migliore comprensione delle attitudini equestri dei purosangue e della loro riqualificazione .
Durante la giornata, diversi cavalli da corsa hanno mostrato la loro abilità nelle loro nuove specialità. In particolare VISON SPECIAL e Deborah Leroy hanno dato una spettacolare dimostrazione di “Extreme Cowboy Race”, una disciplina che combina la manovrabilità e il superamento di ostacoli sorprendenti, per i quali il delicato purosangue non sembrava la razza più adatta.
VALLEE COLLINS, un castrone di 11 anni che uscito dalle corse, ha superato una linea di salti fino a 1m10. SHAROUN et ZARMITAN, due soggetti di marca AgaKhanStuds, oltre ad essere figli delle indimenticabili SHARETA e ZARKAVA, erano stati ritirati dall’allenamento a seguito di infortuni. Entrambi sono stati riqualificati con successo nel dressage e hanno deliziato gli spettatori con la loro leggerezza e grazia con Eugenie e Robert Danloux (Ecurie DH), e tra cui il loro ex allenatore Alain de Royer-Dupre.
La dimostrazione di #Horse-Ball è stata molto applaudita, come anche la squadra dell’ #HarasdeBosherville, una equipe accreditata da Au-Dela des Pistes e gestita da Gildas Mabilais, che si è esibita con cinque purosangue, tra cui KING RUNNER CASTEL, che ancora era in pista meno di un anno fa!
Il presidente di Au-Dela des Pistes #AlietteForien, ha commentato: “Ancora una volta, Au-Dela des Pistes ha messo in evidenza l’amore per il cavallo, al di là degli obiettivi sportivi ed economici. Oggi, i professionisti delle corse e degli sport equestri erano uniti dalla loro comune passione per questo animale così sensibile, così intelligente, e come ha detto #DeborahLeroy, chiede solo di imparare e si dà completamente al cavaliere che sa come ottenere la sua fiducia.
“È essenziale che i professionisti delle corse si rendano conto di ciò che i loro cavalli hanno da offrire alla fine della loro carriera agonistica, indipendentemente dal fatto che abbia avuto successo o meno, ma anche che i cavalieri di altre discipline equestri scoprono la versatilità di questi cavalli che hanno un grande cuore.
“A nome di tutta la squadra di Au-Dela des Pistes, vorrei ringraziare #FranceGalop, che ci ha aiutato a organizzare la giornata, la nostra agenzia #MandoreInternational, così come i cavalieri e i volontari che hanno reso questo evento un enorme successo e un momento di emozioni condivise. The third edition at Deauville a huge success
Au-Dela des Pistes’ Retrained Racehorse Day, held for the third consecutive year at Deauville-La Touques Racecourse on Saturday, August 25, delighted a large crowd that had come to see the various demonstrations and the Parade of Champions.
Mandore Agency’s Nicolas and Meryl de Watrigant, who sponsored the event said, “We’re delighted to be associated with the charity “Au Dela des Pistes” that ensures a second career for ex-racehorses. Our job is to advise owners and breeders about buying racehorses and we can now reassure them in view to their well-being when they retire from competition, which is a big concern often voiced by our clients. We are all horse lovers, and their well-being is of the biggest priority.”
Several racing professionals were present around the parade ring during the Parade of Champions, including Freddy Head, who had come to see two of his old charges: SOLOW, a five-time Group 1 winner in the Wertheimer Brothers’ silks, and parading for the first time, MARCHAND D’OR. Owned by Mr and Mrs Giral, he notably won the Prix Maurice de Gheest in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
These two exceptional horses were joined by CIRRUS DES AIGLES, still in the form of his life at 12 years old, as well as AFRICAN STORY and PRINCE BISHOP, both Dubai World Cup winners for Godolphin. They travelled especially from Newmarket for the third year running. These five horses between them won 20 Group 1s and more than €29 million in prize money.
Following the Parade, the public were then invited to meet the champions and all the horses that took part in the demonstrations. Accompanied by Au-Dela des Pistes, more than 80 people met the horses in their boxes, took selfies with their idols, and gained a better understanding of their retraining by talking to their riders.
Between the different races on the day, several retrained racehorses showed off their prowess in their new careers. VISON SPECIAL and Deborah Leroy gave a spectacular demonstration of “Extreme Cowboy Race”, a discipline combining manoeuvrability and overcoming surprising obstacles, for which beforehand, the delicate thoroughbred did not seem the most suitable breed.
VALLEE COLLINS, an 11-year-old gelding that did not reach the racecourse, went over a line of jumps of up to 1m10 on the racecourse. SHAROUN et ZARMITAN, two Aga Khan Studs homebreds, as well as being sons of the unforgettable racemares SHARETA and ZARKAVA, had been retired from training following injuries. Both were retrained with success in dressage and delighted spectators with their lightness and grace under Eugenie and Robert Danloux (Ecurie DH), including their former trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre.
The Horse-Ball demonstration drew lots of exclamations from the crowds, as the team from Haras de Bosherville, an accredited establishment by Au-Dela des Pistes and run by Gildas Mabilais, showed passes, picking up the ball from the ground and various technicalities of the game with five thoroughbreds, including KING RUNNER CASTEL, that was still running over fences less than a year ago!
Au-Dela des Pistes’ President Aliette Forien, commented on the day, “Once more, Au-Dela des Pistes has highlighted the love of the horse, the cement of the equestrian industry, beyond the sporting and economic objectives. Today, racing and equestrian sports professionals were united by their common passion for this animal that is so sensitive, so intelligent, and as Deborah Leroy said, only asks to learn and gives himself thoroughly to the rider who knows how to gain his confidence.
“It is essential that racing professionals become aware of what their horses have to offer at the end of their competitive career, regardless of whether it has been successful or not, but also that riders in other equestrian disciplines discover the versatility of these horses that have such a big heart.
“On behalf of the entire Au-Dela des Pistes team, I would like to thank France Galop, that helped us organise the day, our partner Mandore International Agency, as well as the riders and volunteers who made this event a tremendous success and a moment of shared emotions. Thoroughbreds deserve this second life, and they reward us a hundredfold!”
The next events organised by the association will be the sixth round of the Au-Dela des Pistes Trophy and the Show-Jumping Competition reserved for retrained racehorses on September 8 at Le Mans, as well as a Retrained Racehorse Day at Chantilly on September 15.
